Morgaine Owens at Whitebox Studios!

Talented portrait photographer Morgaine Owens photographed the Brown Family at Whitebox Studios. Take a look at some of the shots on her blog. The kids loved running around the studio, lying down on the couch, playing with the boxes and had lots of fun! Morgaine enjoys shooting using natural light, and we’re happy to provide lots of those with the row of windows we have at the studio!

Kim Akrigg & Doco Connors Workshop @Whitebox Studios!

It’s that time of the year again when it’s too chilly to be outside shooting. It’s a great time to learn new things indoors such as mastering lighting, and doing a lot of creative shoots. The talented photographers Kim Akrigg and Doco Connors have come together to create a great workshop, and it’s going to be at Whitebox Studios! We are all so excited! It’s going to be on DECEMBER 19, 2010. 10AM - 3PM

Kim Akrigg

I’m a photographer from Vancouver BC, I picked up a camera in 2007 and haven’t been able to put it down since, I look for the unusual in the ordinary, and want to make you look at things in a different way.



Ryan Doco Connors

I grew up in Vancouver. I like it here. I also like new ideas. Art, culture, music, photography, design… whatever. If there’s new thinking around an old problem, it makes me happy. In school, I found I could express myself a lot better through designing and taking pictures than I ever could as a dentist or something. Lucky for everyone’s welfare, I stuck with creative services. At the end of the day, I’m young, passionate and just myself. I hope that comes across in my work. Bye.

Whitebox Studios was recently featured in the Richmond Review Online Edition and it will come out tomorrow in the paper (November 18, 2010 Thursday). Richmond Review Reporter Christine Lyon visited us a few weeks ago and interviewed studio owner Jacob Ung and studio manager Karla Lim. Whitebox Studios indeed is a sweet space to shoot in - commercial photographers and portrait photographers have all testified that this place is just amazing. It’s comfortable and convenient to work in. Especially in this cold weather, we look forward to see both professional and hobbyists to come to the studio and let some creativity come to reality.
